Old friends Jim and Carl share a drink at a cafe. Carl agrees that he and his wife, Jane, will set Jim up with one of their single friends.

Jim arrives at the home of Carl and Jane for dinner, where he will meet their single friend Betsy.

With Jane off in the kitchen, Carl and Betsy go to look at Carl and Jane's new baby.....meanwhile Jim overhears Carl and Betsy through the baby monitor and finds out they've been secretly having an affair.

That evening tensions arise as Betsy makes it clear to Carl how much she admires Jim.

Betsy and Jim end the scene with a passionate kiss to make Carl jealous.

The next day at Jim's apartment, he tells Betsy that he heard everything on the baby monitor. He also admits that he is in love with Jane (Carl's wife). Jim and Betsy come up with a plan to pretend to start dating so they can go out as a couple with Carl and Betsy. They hope this will lead to Jim stealing Jane away from Carl and Carl turning to Betsy for support.

During one of their double dates to an art museum, Jim and Jane discover that are are a very compatible couple.

In another part of the museum, Carl and Betsy argue about Carl's lack of commitment and unwillingness to give up Jane. They also agree that every piece of art in the museum is crap.

Betsy and Jim have to make their pretend relationship seem convincing, so they decide to sleep together anyway.

Carl calls Betsy to tell her he has left Jane after he and Betsy had had a fight.

Since Carl was sleeping with Jim's girlfriend and Jim was sleeping with Carl's wife, they decide their only option is to settle it in a battle of the martial arts each one studies....Chu Wa and Sha Zen. Here They prepare for battle.

After the girls have a more vicious fight than the guys, they make up and agree to swear off men altogether,,,,except when they want to use them.

The girls share a drink in a singles bar.

The guys come to the same singles bar. Jim makes up with Betsy, and Carl tries to get forgiveness from Jane.
