Siggy reads one of her mother's books out loud while unwanted houseguest Melinda (a local rock star with a concert that night) tries to nap Siggy's mother's bed.

After arguing about Siggy's right to read aloud and Melinda's right to be there, Melinda drags Siggy out of the room by her ear.

Siggy and Melinda continue to argue about human nature and everything in general.

Later in the afternoon, with Melinda in the bathroom, Siggy writes a not to the person she believes Melinda is on the inside.

Siggy waits for Melinda to return from the bathroom and read her note.

More arguing about the kind of person Melinda is.

In a physical confrontation, Melinda confronts Siggy about the circumstances surrounding her father's death when Siggy was an infant.

Melinda informs Siggy that her father, who was a fundamentalist Christian had died by stepping in front of her tour bus when he tried to save her from the evil life of a rock star.

After Melinda's tirade, she smashes the mirror and windows and collapses on the bed.

Overcome with emotion, Melinda sleeps on the bed for the rest of the afternoon.

Hannah, Siggy's mother has come home and remembers her former husband and the relationship between them and Melinda.

Hannah reads Melinda the last note her husband wrote to her before he stepped in front of the bus.

Siggy and Melinda reconcile at the end.
