Drakula was produced by Queens College in October, 2009. It was directed by Dallas McCurley, with set design by Steven Capone and costume design by Meghan Healey. It was performed in the style of Japanese Kabuki Theatre.

Miina (Mina) listens to Ruushii (Lucy) talk about her lover Seewoodo (Dr. Seward)

Ruushii and the Musician (narrator)

Ruushii and Miina discuss their loves, Seewoodo and Haakaa (Jonathan Harker).

Haakaa is frightened as he is imprisoned in Dorakyura's (Dracula's) castle and he knows there are vampires outside.

Dorakyura enters. His Vampiresses (brides of Dracula) appear in the background.

Dorakyura discourages Haakaa from trying to leave.

Dorakyura addresses the audience

Haakaa stands in the window of his room, wishing he were back home with Miina.

The musician narrates as Haakaa writes a letter to Miina.

Haakaa continues to write his letter while Miina, simultaneously yet in a different time and place, reads it.

We meet Seewoodo and his crazy servant Renifiru (Renfield).

A ship's captain, lost in a storm, ties himself to the wheel of the ship hoping the weight of his soon to be dead body will guide the ship away from the shore and killing the demon on board which has already killed the rest of his crew.

Close up of the captain.

Dorakyura gets the captain, the last person alive on the ship.

Ruushii has wandered out on the sea wall in the storm. Miina tries to stop her but Dorakyura gets to her first.

Not knowing that Dorakyura has bitten Ruushii, Miina rescues her off the sea wall and leads her home.

Soon, Ruushii goes into a trance as she is turning into a vampire.

Ruushii flips back and forth between a possessed demon and sweet Ruushii. Herusingu (Van Helsing) has been called in to help diagnose what is wrong with Ruushii.

Herusingu determines that they must kill Ruushii by stabbing her. Here we see a traditional Kabuki scene ending "MIE" pose.

Haakaa, who has escaped from Dorakyura's castle, is reunited with Miina. They mourn Ruushii's death.

Seewoodo and Herusingu make a decision to go after Dorakyura. Another scene ending MIE pose.

The men go to the graveyard because they learn about sightings of the undead Ruushii.

They encounter the undead Ruushii dancing around the graveyard.

The men behead Ruushii to kill he once and for all. This is the end of scene MIE pose.

Everyone meets in Seewoodo's garden to discuss their strategy to ambush Dorakyura.

Miina stays out in the garden by herself late at night. Dorakyura enters and puts her under his spell.

Close up of Miina being controlled by Dorakyura.

Dorakyurs has pulled Miina to him, bitten her and fed her his blood as well. You can see the Kabuki style "blood" hanging out of Miina's mouth.

The men return to the garden, realize Miina is now linked to Dorakyura and decide to use her to track his movements.

The men blindfold Miina so Dorakyura can't use his mental connection to her to see where they are.

Miina and Herusingu arrive at the Tengu Shrine (Dorakyura's destination) where they await Haakaa and Seewoodo as well as Dorakyura. They have surrounded themselves with the sacred shime-naha cord to protect themselves from the vampiresses you see in the background.

The Vampiresses disappear.

Dorakyura arrives at the tengu shrine and they all prepare for the showdown.

Haakaa has sacrificed himself by cutting open his chest to lure Dorakyura to him while Seewoodo and Herusingu sneak up behind him to cut off his head.

Another MIE pose showing Herusingu about to behead Dorakyura.
